Miniature Cattle Q&A

How big will they get?

Miniature cattle are to be measured at 3 years of age. This chart demonstrates what category cattle fall into at 3 years of age.

How do I take care of my new calf?

Most of our calves are sold as bottle calves and require being fed twice a day until atleast 2.5 months old. Pandarosa calves will arrive at their new homes with a calf starter kit (halter, milk replacer, bottle, and a lifetime of our support). The Calves require 3/4 of a bottle of warm water and 7.5 ounces of milk replacer to be fed morning and evening each day. They need a fresh supply of water, grass hay, and calf feed at all times. Starting in 2021 All calves will leave the ranch with our freeze brand on their left shoulder to represent their heritage from our program.

Have Pandarosa cattle been vaccinated?

Yes, we work closely with Petersburg Veterinary Clinic in Petersburg, Illinois to provide the most effect vaccination program. Pandarosa babies receive clostridium perfringens Type C Antitoxin- Escherichia Coli Antibody, Bovine Rotavirus- Coronavirus Vaccine at birth. They receive Bovine Rhinotracheitis- virus diarrhea- parainfluenza 3- respiratory syncytial virus vaccine, pulmo guard PHM-1 50Ds, cholostridium chauvoei- specticum- novyi- sordellii perfingens types C and D- haemophilus somnus bactrin-toxoid (Bar-Vac 7/ Somnus) before leaving for their forever homes.

What medications do I keep on hand?

Corid- used to treat calves if they develop coccidia. It is placed in their bottle and fed to them during feeding.

Banamine- used to reduce pain and fever.

Draxxin- used for any respiratory issue that could occur.

What is a Panlander?

Panlanders are a breed of cattle that we have created at the Pandarosa. They are high percent Miniature Highland cattle with some of our elite Panda genetics imprinted in the calves. The result is a perfect combination of color and hair to produce some of the cutest little fuzzy friends in existence.
